I just weighed in as part of my own health and fitness program ...

I just weighed myself in and it wasn?t pretty.? Too much indulgence over the Easter Weekend, and too much apathy in general over the last month.? Time to re-focus.? Disturbing as it might be, today?s measurement will only motivate me to get back on track.? How about you?

Are you measuring your body weight and body fat regularly?? And if so, do you know how to respond when the numbers take the disturbing turn they took for me today?? And if you?re not measuring and weighing in regularly, what exactly are you doing to stay connected with your body and your health on a regular basis?? Of course, measuring body weight and body fat is only one of the many ways I stay connected with my own body, but what I find with most people I work with as a fitness coach is that at some point or in general, they remain disconnected from their body in ways that prevent the kind of responding I?m personally ready to adopt now that I?ve measured myself this morning.

What I see people do instead is use the scale as their sole guiding measure for success.? A problem in and of itself.? In addition to this incomplete measuring system, instead of responding in the way I plan to following my own assessment this morning, they often bemoan their current physiological state and let those measurements derail their efforts, and their progress, and their ability to take action.

So, as we move toward summer, I?ll ask you one more time?What are you doing to assess your progress with your health and fitness and weight loss efforts?? Anything?? Because that?s the other thing I see so many people do.? They complain and loath their lack of physical fitness, but they don?t do anything about it.? Which is ultimately a recipe for insanity.? A recipe for a lifetime of sub-optimal health, frustration, disappointment, depression, knee replacements, back pain, headaches, sleepiness, lethargy, and that list goes on and on.

What will you do about it this April?? Will you take action or will you hide like the Easter eggs?
