Though not all of the action in The Amazing Spider-Man was computer generated, senior VFX supervisor Jerome Chen explains that for this sequence, going all digital allowed director Marc Webb to create more dynamic action by switching up camera angles and character movement. The video also takes a close look at how the team at Sony Imageworks built The Lizard, which naturally included examining real reptile reference to create the creature?s skin. (Also awesome: In the early animations, Spider-man is wearing sneakers.) And they did all this while adhering to physics that would make move in a realistic way?no small feat.
